- Plot
In a certain game, there is a master swordsman named Taylor McLore, who becomes the strongest Sword Saint and conquers various challenges alongside his teammates. A veteran player of this game gets reincarnated into this world as Ed Rothtaylor, a third-rate villain in the original story. At this point, Ed has been expelled from his family for cheating and sabotaging Taylor during an exam and for mocking the kingdom’s princess. From a noble, he has become a homeless outcast, and his life seems to be over. In the game’s storyline, Ed ends up as a filthy beggar by the end.
However, he is no longer the original Ed. Now reincarnated as Ed, he is determined to live a peaceful life after graduating from the academy and to witness the story he’s so familiar with. But things are not simple. He has to pay for his tuition, so Ed must secure a scholarship. To do this, he needs to successfully enroll for the new semester. With no place to stay, he decides to live in the forest until the term starts. Here, Ed survives on his own using his natural crafting talents. Will Ed succeed in enjoying his life and the storyline? As an “anomaly,” he will inevitably have to “participate” in the storyline at crucial moments to keep it on track.
- Review
The protagonist is initially ridiculed and ostracized, which makes his character development more engaging as he has to survive in the forest. Even after successfully enrolling, he continues to live alone in the wild. Readers will be captivated by how the protagonist gradually builds his shelter, as he starts off very weak, making solitary living quite challenging. Although he gains some basic buffs as the story progresses, his strength remains insignificant compared to the main characters in the original storyline.
Nevertheless, with his foreknowledge, you will see the protagonist devising clear plans and strategies, portraying him as an intelligent character, which is very appealing. Despite his lack of strength, he still participates in the storyline to assist the main characters when “necessary.”
As the story progresses, the antagonists, who play the role of bosses of each stage, gradually appear. To defeat the final boss, Taylor, the main character of the original story is not strong enough due to unexpected twists. The one who always stays behind the scenes and supports the main characters is none other than Ed.
